The visionary game developer, the mind behind the wildly popular first-person shooter Call of Duty, has tragically died in a vehicle crash in Los Angeles, California aged 55.

The tragic news was verified by Electronic Arts, the publisher that controls Respawn Entertainment, the development studio he co-founded.

The celebrated game designer died after his car crashed and caught fire on a motorway in the Los Angeles area on Sunday, according to.
