Around 25,000 residences in south-east Queensland woke up lacking electricity on Monday morning after intense storm systems impacted the region, producing strong winds hitting over 100 km/h.
Substantial Hailstones and Widespread Damage
Locals observed giant hailstones measuring up to seven centimeters in certain regions. Meteorological experts announced that multiple regions across Queensland had been impacted by significant hail.

Response teams were working to restore power throughout the affected regions, with approximately seventy teams activated to handle the widespread outages.
Victorian Climate Difficulties
Simultaneously, nearly 1,000 residents in Victoria also experienced electricity disruptions after Melbourne recorded its heaviest rainfall in a year and a half.
Rescue organizations received 598 requests for assistance across the region, mostly for structural issues but also for fallen timber and flooding.

Climate Outlook
Humid circumstances were predicted to continue along much of eastern Queensland this week as a atmospheric system continued to pull in damp air against the shoreline.
The following day was forecast to be the wettest day, with continued severe weather risk expected across various areas of both areas.
Health Warning
Public health experts warned that there was an increased chance of weather-related respiratory issues across the northern rural areas, specifically given the existing atmospheric conditions.
