Slot Asserts He Is Safe and Has The Club's Support After PSV Loss

Arne Slot acknowledged that it's expected for doubts to be asked about his future following a further convincing defeat versus PSV Eindhoven.

Liverpool endured their 9th loss in 12 matches, representing the club's poorest run after being relegated in 1953-54.

They were taken apart by the Eredivisie title holders on a difficult evening at their home ground.

“I'm confident, things are alright, I've received a lot of backing from management,” the coach stated.

“It would be nice to reverse this trend and get a victory naturally but if you are working as a coach and struggling then it's typical that questions are asked.”

He continued, “I accept my position. This isn't the initial instance I've found myself in a challenging situation but it's crucial that we changed our fortunes.”

Discussions with Club Management

Upon being questioned to elaborate on his discussions with the Liverpool hierarchy, the head coach explained:

“We communicate frequently. They are helpful to the team and for me and we have those conversations but they don't phone me every single minute of the day to say they have faith in me.”

He mentioned, “In the normal discussions I sense the belief. However I haven’t spoken to them since this game so far so we'll see.”

Recurring Issues and Player Response

The manager lamented familiar weaknesses from his squad in their Champions League loss, specifically poor finishing and defensive lapses.

Meanwhile, midfielder Jones was blunter in his evaluation of the current crisis.

“I haven't got the solutions. Honestly, I do not. I’m saying that to everybody,” the midfielder remarked.

“It’s just not good enough. I don't have to wait to reflect. I’m past being angry internally. I've reached the stage currently where I just don’t have the phrases.”

He added, “It's difficult because I play for the side I follow. I support them, and I've watched this club for years.”

“In a long, long time, I haven’t experienced a Liverpool team experiencing a period such as this with results so bad.”

He concluded, “But we continue to wear the emblem on our chest. And as long as it is gone, we’re always going to fight.”

“We will attempt to get this team return to its rightful place, prove once more the values of this club and why it's known as the best team in the planet.”

“However currently, we’re in the shit and it must improve.”
