Even though embarking on their first-ever continental campaign, Crystal Palace are learning very quickly. Without key figures like striker Jean-Philippe Mateta and defender Daniel Muñoz, the London club departed Dublin with a commanding result that all but secures them a place in the Conference League playoffs.
A further victory in their upcoming match against Finnish KuPS ought to be sufficient to seal straight passage to the knockout stages, especially after a previous stumble against Strasbourg.

This match provided a chance for some of Palace's fringe players to shine. Christantus Uche, in only his second start since arriving on loan from Getafe, notched the account with a clinical finish. Forward Eddie Nketiah contributed a second, finding the net for the second consecutive succession.

The contest was effectively over eight minutes from half-time. Yeremy Pino weaved past a series of comically weak challenges before calmly dispatching a shot past goalkeeper Wessel Speel to extend the lead to 3-0.
Following the break, manager Oliver Glasner seized the opportunity to rest key players like Kamada and Wharton. Substitute Romain Esse came close to scoring with his first touch, only to see his effort blocked.
The youngster was incredibly unlucky later on, seeing one attempt strike off both posts before being clasped on the line. Uche then blazed a sitter of a chance, showing there is still room for development in his game.
The only concern for Palace was a late knock to Justin Devenny, who was forced off. This paved the way for 17-year-old forward Benji Casey to earn his first-team debut, rounding off an otherwise positive night for the visiting side.
